Blaine's Unique Winter Challenges

Blaine’s proximity to the Canadian border means colder temperatures and frequent lake-effect snow, creating heavy drifts and icy conditions that can make commercial properties difficult to navigate. Sudden freezing rain and black ice are common in the region, turning parking lots and walkways into serious slip hazards. Snow accumulation near the waterfront can also become dense and compacted, making removal more difficult. Our team responds quickly to Blaine’s winter challenges with commercial snow removal, plowing, and de-icing to keep businesses running smoothly.

How much does snow removal cost in Blaine, WA?

Snow removal for commercial properties starts ~$400 per visit. From there, the cost can vary depending on the size of the property, the particular needs, and how much accumulation is present.

If your commercial property is a small one, taking care of snow and ice removal yourself might be doable. However, that gets really old really fast. If you have employees do the work, you’re looking at lost productivity and the possibility of liability for injuries. Hiring a pro saves time and money.

In snow removal, a “push” is one visit from start to finish. Before PCL leaves, we remove snow from the designated areas and leave it in tidy-looking piles in locations you’ve specified.

We use advanced technology to track via GPS our snowplow routes. We also take site photos to keep you fully up to date on the progress. After you choose the location for the snow pile, PCL clears the lot and neatly piles the snow in the spot you requested.

For snow removal, we’ll come as soon as we can after you request service or per the terms of your contract. Because we know this region can get snowy surprises in spring and fall, we’re available for snow removal year-round and on an emergency basis. For deicing, we come out when temperatures are 32 F or lower and the dewpoint matches or exceeds the present temperature (i.e. the conditions that cause ice).

For deicing, we prefer to use a granular application. However, we can use a liquid deicer if the customer requests one.

At PCL, we do realize that last-minute needs arise and that active plowing jobs may complicate customer or employee access, so yes, we can provide off-hours services. Current customers do receive preferred treatment, though, so we sometimes may not be able to accommodate a special or last-minute request in the desired timeframe.

Once you sign up with PCL for snow and ice removal, we take care of everything so you don’t have to worry. We create a schedule, and we also provide 24/7 monitoring of conditions at your location. This way, we ensure that we meet all your requests. In an instance where unscheduled service is necessary, we prioritize our contracted customers. You can always trust PCL to look out for our loyal customers.
