This project started with a familiar challenge: a gravel-covered under-deck space that collected clutter but offered no real function. The homeowner wanted something more usable, polished, and easy to maintain without sacrificing the natural feel of their wooded backyard.
We installed a stamped concrete patio using the Grand Ashlar Slate pattern—one of the most popular choices for clients seeking a natural stone look with clean, geometric lines.
The color was created using Davis Colors, a trusted system that allows homeowners to choose from a wide range of integral concrete pigments. In this case, the base shade “Sanddune” was paired with a charcoal release powder to highlight the textured detail and create contrast. All colorants and finishing products were sourced through Euclid Chemical, a leading supplier of professional-grade concrete systems.
To protect the surface and enhance visual depth, we applied Diamond Everclear—a high-performance, non-yellowing sealer designed for stamped concrete. The result is a durable, low-maintenance patio that enhances the shaded side yard and ties into the home’s overall aesthetic.
