The existing backyard lacked structure, privacy, and usable space due to the sloped terrain. Our team designed and built a tiered layout that made the grade change feel intentional while maximizing every level. The upper patio now includes a dedicated dining area, a grill zone, and a more private lounge area, framed with metal privacy screens and surrounded by low-maintenance landscaping.
We used split-faced retaining walls to create level transitions and natural stone steps to connect the zones. A freestanding barrel sauna anchors the lower level, offering a peaceful spot to unwind. The planting design features drought-tolerant varieties for year-round texture and low water use, supported by drip irrigation.
This full-scope project included grading, retaining, hardscaping, planting, privacy screening, and finish detailing. The result is a balanced and modern backyard that fits the needs of the site and supports the client’s lifestyle.
